Art Brum – tell us what’s missing

We’re launching Art Brum on Friday 12th June as a companion site to Live Brum. Art Brum will provide detailed listings for art and exhibitions throughout Birmingham.

The site is making really good progress but now we need your help.

What’s missing?

Have a browse around our pre-launch site and tell us what we’ve missed. Check the list of venues in particular. If you know of a venue or art event of any kind that you think should be on the site but isn’t then please let us know.

Criteria for entry

We use a fairly relaxed definition of what counts as Birmingham. If a venue has either a Bxx postcode or an 0121 telephone prefix then it counts for us. So, you may think that The Public is really beyond our boundary but with a postcode of B70 7PG and a phone number of 0121 533 7161 it actually qualifies on two counts.

    Cheers Shona,

The Edge, Vivid and Eastside Projects are all in as venues but don’t, as far as I can tell, have upcoming exhibitions or events. I’ll keep my eye out tho’.

I’ll check on the others and add everything I can find but do keep ‘em coming. It’s that ‘ton more’ that I know are missing and deserve to be listed that I’m concerned about.

Everyone, if you know of an Art(ish) event coming up that you think should be listed then please let us know. All we need are the most basic details and it’ll get added in a heartbeat.

    Hi Josh

Site’s looking fab, fella, but can I throw in my tuppence with some other venues, please? :)

Vaad Gallery (and Studio4 @ Custard Factory, though the latter’s not technically a gallery per se but is ace for a snoop)
    The Wild Building (Jibbering Art)
    The Edge (Friction Arts)
    Vivid
    Eastside Projects

    I’m sure there’s a ton more, too ;)

    To clarify…

The Edge has no upcoming events after our launch date of 12th June.

If you’re reading this before 6th June then I urge you, all of you, to go see Echoes from the Edge. It’s fantastic. One of those things that people will talk about and you will wish you went to see.

Seriously, places are limited and you only have a few days. Go while you have the chance.
